Interested in learning how to save water while maintaining a lush garden?
The Douglas County Extension Master Gardeners have invited Amber Thuman,
board member and educator with the Kansas Permaculture Institute, to share
her vast experience with sustainable water collection and use in the yard and
garden. There will be a one-hour lecture, followed by hands on construction of
a water saving device and a tour of the Douglas County Fairgrounds Gardens
to see some of these concepts in practice.
The lecture is FREE and open to all, but the hands-on portion is a fee paid
workshop costing $10 and limited to 20 participants. Paid Participants will
construct an olla (pronounced oy-ya), a traditional unglazed clay pot with
common materials to take home and add it to their
garden.
