The Douglas County Extension Master Gardeners invited Amber Thumann, board member and educator with the Kansas Permaculture Institute, to share her vast experience with sustainable water collection and use in the yard and garden on June 27, 2026. There was a one-hour lecture, followed by hands on construction of a water saving device and a tour of the Douglas County Fairgrounds Gardens to see some of these concepts in practice.
