The High Tunnel committee is working on an irrigation system that will allow us to practice better watering techniques, which we are hoping will increase our yield of vegetables that are donated to the community. The added bonus is saving water by watering at the plant base instead of the entire plant, which also should decrease plant leaf diseases by keeping the leaves dry. As you can see from our exhibits good watering practices can be applied on any level from planters/pots on a patio to large crop fields. Selecting the best system and accessories for your environment is key in conserving water.
